Month - September
Gateway - Kilimanjaro
Description
This group of intrepid friends were up for the ultimate adventure, summiting Africa’s tallest peak and experiencing the greatest wildlife spectacle on the planet, the Serengeti’s Great Migration.
Mt Kilimanjaro is one of the most attempted big climbs in the world since it doesn't require any technical climbing, but that leaves some of the routes over-crowded in the peak season. We generally recommend the Rongai route which features less traveled trails, a sense of unspoiled wilderness and a different perspective on Kilimanjaro by approaching it from the drier northern side. It is one of the quietest routes as it only converges with the Marangu Route at Kibo Hut for the ascent to the summit. Rongai is a slightly longer route which allows for more time to acclimatize, and it is recommended for those with less experience.
In the Serengeti, we paired two different safari camps to optimize the chances of seeing the massive migratory herds and breathtaking river crossings.
