Kenya Custom Safaris

These tours can operate on any days subject to space availability. Costs are approximate subject to camps and lodges being used and depending on season. April & May low season rates are in affect and may be lower then those rates quoted. Children under 12 sharing with adults may qualify for discounted rate.

Cost includes private safari vehicle with roof hatch and driver/guide, accommodations, meals, park and entrance fees, taxes including Kenya VAT of 17.5%.

Hotel and airport transfers in Nairobi have to be added to costs. Kenya visas are currently $25 per person (subject to change) and may easily be obtained on arrival. Tanzania visas can easily be obtained on arrival for US $100 per person.

KENYA NORTHERN LOOP (7 days)
Nairobi, Mountain Lodge, Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara

Day 1 - Mountain Lodge. Pick up at your hotel in Nairobi. Commence your safari driving north to Mountain Lodge arriving in time for lunch (225K and 3 hours driving). Throughout the day and night forest animals visit the waterhole and saltlick, ensuring you many exciting moments. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Lodge.

Day 2 -   Samburu Game Reserve. After breakfast continue north to Samburu arriving in time for lunch (215K and 4 hours driving). Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Shaba Lodge.

Day 3 - Samburu Game Reserve. Full day Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at Lodge.

Day 4 - Lake Nakuru National Park. After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for late lunch (355K and 6 hours driving). In the afternoon proceed on a game drive along the lakeshore. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

Day 5 - Masai Mara Game Reserve. Drive through the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara National Reserve (320K and 5 hours driving). Afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Tented Camp.

Day 6 - Masai Mara Game Reserve. Full day in the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight at camp.

Day 7 –  Nairobi. Drive or fly back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon (265K and 6 hours driving) or fly back at additional cost. Lunch at the Carnivore or similar. Airport transfer this evening. Cost: please inquire.

KENYA NORTHERN CIRCUIT (8 days)
Nairobi, The ark, Samburu, Mount Kenya Safari Club, Sweetwater's, Masai Mara

Day 1 – Pick up hotel in Nairobi. Drive north to Aberdare Country Club for lunch (205K and 3 hours driving). Transfer to The ark for overnight.

Day 2 - Samburu Game Reserve. After breakfast continue north to Samburu arriving in time for lunch (205K and 3 1/2 hours driving). Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge.

Day 3 – Samburu Game Reserve. Full day in Samburu / Buffalo Springs with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight at your lodge.

Day 4 – Drive to Mount Kenya Safari Club for overnight {155K and 2 hours driving}.

Day 5 - Sweetwater’s Tented Camp. After breakfast depart for Ol Pejeta arriving in time for lunch (55K and one hour driving). In the afternoon proceed on a game drive including a visit to the Chimpanzee Orphanage. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwater’s Tented Camp.

Day 6 – Drive to Masai Mara {30K and 1/2 hour} and afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Safari Club.

Day 7 - Masai Mara. Full day in the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight.

Day 8 – Nairobi. Transfer to the airstrip for the late morning flight to Nairobi. Met on arrival and lunch at Carnivore.  Cost: please inquire.

KENYA DELUXE ROAD & FLYING SAFARI (8 days)
Nairobi. Tsavo West, Amboseli, Masai Mara

Day 1 - Tsavo West - Finch Hattons Camp. Depart this morning by road to Finch Hattons arriving in time for lunch {325 K and 5 hours driving}. Afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight at Finch Hattons Camp.

Day 2 - Tsavo West - Finch Hattons Camp. Full day Tsavo West with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight at Finch Hattons.

Day 3 - Amboseli - Tortilis Camp. After breakfast drive to Tortilis Camp arriving in time for lunch {160K and 4 hours driving}. Afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Amboseli - Tortilis Camp. Full day Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight Tortilis Camp.

Day 5 - Masai Mara - After breakfast drive to Nairobi {265 K and 4 hours driving}and have lunch at Carnivore. Afternoon flight to Masai Mara and transfer to Governor's Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 - Masai Mara - Governor's Camp. Full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight at Governor's Camp.

Day 7 - Masai Mara - Governor's Camp. Full day Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight at Governor's Camp.

Day 8 - Nairobi - Flight to Wilson Airport. Transfer either to hotel or airport for departure.

DELUXE FLYING SAFARI (8 days)

Day 1 - Amboseli - Tortilis Camp. Transfer to Wilson Airport for 7:30 AM flight to Amboseli. Met on arrival and transfer to Tortilis Camp. Lunch, afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight.

Day 8 – Nairobi. Transfer for scheduled flight to Wilson Airport Nairobi and to Carnivore for lunch.

DELUXE KENYA & TANZANIA SAFARI (14 days)

Day 1 – Nairobi.Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, met and transferred to hotel in the city. Dinner on own arrangement.

Day 2 - Mt Kenya. Pick up from your Nairobi hotel after breakfast. Drive in private safari vehicle with naturalist guide to Mountain Lodge arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing from the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Lodge or similar. 225 kms / 3 hrs. 

Day 3 - Samburu. After breakfast, drive northwards to Samburu, arriving in time for lunch and afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge, or similar. 215 kms / 4 hours.

Day 4 - Samburu. Full day with morning and afternoon game activities. Overnight Samburu Serena.

Day 5 - Lake Nakuru. After early breakfast, depart for Nakuru arriving in time for late lunch and afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or similar. 355 kms / 6 hours.

Day 6 - Masai Mara. After early breakfast, depart for drive to Masai Mara. Late lunch and afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or similar. 365 kms / 6 hours.

Day 7- Masai Mara. A full day in the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 8 - Speke Bay. Drive via Isabenia border post to Speke Bay, with picnic lunch enroute. Overnight at Speke Bay Lodge. 380 kms / 7 hrs.

Day 9 - Serengeti. After breakfast, drive to Serengeti Serena Lodge arriving in time for lunch and afternoon game drive. Overnight at Serengeti Serena or similar. 180 kms / 4 hrs.

Day 10 – Serengeti. Full day Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.

Day 11 – Ngorongoro Crater. Morning game drive. After lunch, drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or similar. 195 kms / 4.5 hrs.

Day 12 - Ngorongoro Crater/Lake Manyara. Half day crater with picnic. Continue to Lake Manyara, with afternoon game drive in the park. Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge or similar. 80 kms / 1.5 hrs.

Day 13 – Amboseli. After breakfast, drive to Arusha and continue to Namanga border post with picnic lunch enroute. Continue driving to Amboselij for afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or similar. 370 kms / 7 hrs.

Day 14 - Nairobi. After breakfast, drive to Nairobi - the colorful capital of Kenya. Lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant. Transfer to airport. 260 kms / 4.5 hrs.

KENYA & TANZANIA SAFARI (12 days)

Day 6 – Morning & afternoon game drives.

Day 7 - Drive into Serengeti via Isabenia {620K and 9 hours driving}. Overnight Serena Lodge or similar.

Day 8 - Game drives in park.

Day 9 - Morning game drive. After lunch drive via Olduvai Gorge to Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge {195K and 3 hours driving}.

Day 10 - Morning in crater on safari with a picnic lunch. Continue to Lake Manyara Lodge {90 K and 2 hours}. Afternoon game drive.

Day 11 - Drive to Tarangire National Park {200 K and 3 hours}. Overnight Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

Day 12 - Morning game drive. Return to Arusha {150 K and 2 hours driving} where safari ends. Arrangements will be made for 'day room' hotel if flying out from Kilimanjaro Airport or returning to Nairobi.

TREKKING SAFARI
Loita Hills, Masai Mara, Tsavo

This 10 to 14 day safari is a combination of walking and driving. It samples different cultures, provides excellent game viewing and foot safaris. The first three days are spent in the Loita Hills, an unspoiled part of Maasailand, with a Masai tribe. There is plenty of hiking and ample opportunity to become familiar with the Masai culture. A drive to the Masai Mara Reserve allows for three days of quality game viewing, with the possibility of more walking. Visit Tsavo wilderness for a three-day foot safari along the banks of the Galana River.

CUSTOM FAMILY SAFARI (11 days)
Nairobi, Lewa Downs or Samburu, Sweetwaters, Lake Elmenteita, Masai Mara

This customized safari allows the family (or group) to explore Kenya’s highlights by landrover and staying in isolated private camp sites. The camps are first class with tents, showers and your own private staff. It offers a chance to see the spectacular scenes of Kenya’s parks, and has rich gameviewing opportunities. The following itinerary can be adjusted to suit individual interest.

ITINERARY:
Day 1 Arrival day and overnight in Nairobi.

Days 2-4 Drive to either Lewa Downs Game Sanctuary or Samburu in the arid north. Private mobile camp with camp staff. 

Day 5 - 6 Sweetwaters Camp or Camp Delamere in lodges..

Days 7-10 Masai Mara with private mobile camp and staff.

Day 11 Scheduled return flight to Nairobi.

SNOWCAPS ON THE EQUATOR SAFARI
Mount Kenya, Amboseli, Kilimanjaro – in Kenya and Tanzania

This 15-day climbing trip offers a chance to climb Africa’s two highest mountains, Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. It is a tough physical challenge for the fairly fit and well motivated. We begin with a 5-day traverse of Mount Kenya moving from east to west and ascending the third highest peak, Point Lenana, at 16,355 ft. We drive to Amboseli for two nights of leisure time. We then traverse Kilimanjaro from north to south, climbing to the 19,340-ft summit from the Kenyan side. We descend into Tanzania before driving back to Nairobi. As a mountain trekking safari, the "Snowcaps" trip is first class trip, but is necessarily less luxuriously accommodated and more strenuous than the other safaris outlined.

Custom Safaris - Rwanda

A four day gorilla tracking program can be organized from Nairobi.

Day 1 Fly Nairobi to Kigali. Drive about two hours to Gorilla Nest Lodge. Days 2 and 3 Gorilla tracking days. Day 4 Return drive to Kigali and fly to Nairobi.

Gorilla tracking permits are $500 per person per day. Safari for two trip members all inclusive is about $1725 per pesron. Four trip members all inclusive is about $1280 per person. The round trip flight Nairobi to Kigali is at prevailing airfares of about $450.

Early booking is advised as gorilla tracking permits are limited and can be very difficult to obtain.
