Designing & Planning Your Safari
We'll work closely with you to design and outline your custom safari or to select an appropriate scheduled small group safari. During the planning process you’ll work closely with us and we’ll provide and we'll provide suggestions and recommendations based on our experience and knowledge acquired over 27 years of traveling in Africa.

During the planning period we may meet in person or consult by telephone and or email.  Once your safari has been outlined and we have an approximate cost, we'll book air reservations in conjunction with your land arrangements.

Booking Air Reservations
The Air Desk charges $50 for making air reservations using the lowest airfares possible.  If the reservation is accepted the fee is waived.

If the reservation is cancelled $50 payment has to be made by our office. If comparing airfares keep in mind taxes, fuel surcharges and security fees can amount to $250 to $400 of your quoted airfares to Africa depending on routing and number of segments in your flight plans.

We generally use consolidator rates for air and have contracts with all major carriers. We must know that air reservations can be obtained for your program before proceeding as air space during certain times can be a problem if not booked far in advance.

Making an air reservation does not guarantee the airfare. Airfare is subject to change and fuel surcharges until tickets are purchased.

If you are using Frequent Flyer Miles, you need to contact your provider and see about reservations as soon as possible. FFM can be a problem with flights to Africa.

Provisional Reservations
We'll obtain a provisional reservation on your safari and tour, making any adjustments required in the land itinerary and air reservations, due to availability. The provisional reservations will be held pending your approval and confirmation. Normally we can hold space provisionally for a few days.

Confirming Reservations
To confirm your reservations, we will send you a pre-confirmation packet with all the preliminary information you will need to review. 

• In accordance with our General Information Bulletin, we require a 25% deposit on your safari / tour program to confirm travel arrangements.

• Depending on carrier airfare may not have to be paid until your final payment, 8 weeks prior to departure. South Africa Airways requires tickets be purchased a specific number of days after a reservation is made. 
  
• We accept checks made out to Next Adventure, Inc. and all client funds are held in our trust account in compliance with the State of California's Seller of Travel Law.
  
• For payments by check we offer a 3% discount as shown on your invoice.
• We can also accept Visa, MasterCard and Discovery credit cards.
  

Customized Safari Itinerary & Dossier
Once your safari is confirmed, we'll prepare a trip dossier for you {and your group}. This usually takes us about 7 - 10 days as each is prepared individually. Your dossier will contain the detailed daily program, maps, health matters, clothing list, bulletins, reading list, contact information, and financial matters.

Final Payment & Travel Documents
Final payment including airfare is due about 10 weeks prior to your departure. About a month prior to departure we will send your air tickets and safari vouchers along with any late information.

Note that seat assignments cannot be made until the air tickets are purchased. Tickets can be purchased at any time to lock in your airfare by sending us the funds.

Monitoring Your Safari in Africa
While you are on safari we monitor your progress as we are in daily contact with all vendors involved.
