Overview

Travel through northern Tanzania’s iconic national parks during the “off’ season. Tanzania is home to some of Africa’s best wildlife densities as well as the changing landscapes of the Great Rift Valley and the rich culture of the Maasai. A destination hotspot due to the Great Migration, Tanzania is a well known targeted destination during the summer. However, the wildebeest and zebra have their calves during the “green season.” This “secret” season is also when plains turn from a dry brown to a verdant green with splashes of color as flowers blossom. Enjoy game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater looking for rhino, watch herds of elephant in the swamps of Tarangire and explore the vast savannah plains of the Serengeti on this experience-rich safari.

Little Oliver’s in Tarangire National Park is the first stop on this safari. The grassy plains and lush green swamps are an absolute magnet for wildlife. From here, fly over Lake Manyara. There will be a scenic drive through the coffee plantations and before arriving at The Highlands in the Ngorongoro Crater region. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most unique safari destinations in Africa, where wildlife lives on the floor of a dormant volcano. Following the crater, hop on a flight to the Serengeti; the proper grand finale. The staff of Tanzania’s first and only all-female-run camp from Dunia will provide a gracious welcoming.

Our goal is to spread the word that Tanzania is a safari destination all-year round and not just during the July, August, September months. Aligning with our goals of community-centric ecotourism, we hope to spread the positive impact that travelers can bring all year long rather than just for a short period.
