"Hi Kili and Louise,

We are home now safe and sound with a long but uneventful trip home. Everything went exactly as planned and we have nothing but praise to offer the Nomad people for the quality of their camps, their well-trained guides in each of the camps as well as being there to manage our transfers and baggage at the airport. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the trip.

We were especially thrilled that the 2 highlights we hoped to see even though we knew it was a long shot, especially for the migration, really materialized. We had hoped to see the wildebeest crossing the Mara River, and we were so lucky. They arrived just 2 days before we did and a month earlier than last year and even more so from previous years. We saw 2 crossings!!!

The other was that the chimps wouldn't be so far up the mountain that it would be too difficult a trek to do. As it turned out, the trek was doable. The first day we saw a family of 3 chimps mostly up in the trees but we got some good shots. The 2nd day, we started out with the same small family and shortly another group of about 8 more joined them. We were with them briefly but there were 2 other groups of people whose time was nearly up so they got to spend their remaining time with them. We waited as we still had about 25 minutes left and we had them all to ourselves!! And to make matters even better, they came down from the trees to the ground and out onto the paths for the most unusual and perfect viewing. Darwin, the big male, really enjoyed putting on a show. We had to keep backing up as they kept coming too close. It was fabulous!! Of course, we saw all the usual game including about 50 lions, 3 leopards and 2 cheetahs.

We want to thank both of you for all the work you put into making our safari such a memorable experience. We know that there is a lot of "behind-the-scenes" work in making everything click so well and you did the perfect job and we appreciate it."

Brian and I had an amazing vacation.  I am sure you have heard every synonym for amazing when people try to express to you their heartfelt satisfaction with the safaris that you set up, so I won’t inundate you with the words myself.  We simply want to let you know that we could not have hoped for a better experience.  We are so thankful for all the work that you did.  The two other couples on our trip were jealous of the fantastic book that you pulled together for us – before we moved to each new campsite, we all read information from it to acquaint ourselves with what was to come!

The transfer and guide company in Johannesburg were such a nice treat to start our vacation off on the right step.  There wasn’t a stressful element in our time in Johannesburg at all.

CC Africa was a superb company to host the safari.  They paid attention to ever little detail at every stage of the safari: we truly felt like a king and queen.  All of their new equipment was phenomenal: who knew that camping could be

so luxurious?  Our guide, Jakes, was a gem.  As you assured us before we left, there was no problem with travelling in Victoria Falls.  In fact, I really treasured the opportunity to talk with many of the locals there about the current political situation, so I’m very glad that we went.

We took over 2000 photos so we are in the process of filtering through them all and trying to decide on a few to enlarge for our condo.  It will be a tough decision!
