Richard McGowan, Founder
Next Adventure was founded in 1996 by Richard and Louise McGowan to focus exclusively on providing custom safari planning to their favorite destination, Africa! Before Next Adventure, Richard and Louise McGowan were owners of Mountain Travel for 17 years, pioneering the international travel industry and sending thousands of adventurers to every corner of the globe.

Indicative of their adventurous spirit, Louise was pregnant on their first climb of Kilimanjaro in 1979, naming their daughter Kili for this distinctive and symbolic African volcano. Kili's childhood was spent at the feet of these two accomplished guides exploring the most beautiful and remote places on earth.

Today, Kili and Louise spend up to four months a year escorting small groups, scouting safari camps, lodges and parks and meeting local operators throughout the continent.
